Currently guiding the Tomasso Group in New Britain, Connecticut, which has been in business since 1977, William Tomasso leads the multi-disciplined firm that spans construction, property management, and real estate development. The roots of William Tomasso’s firm extend nearly a century, with major accomplishments including spearheading the expedited construction and paving of Interstate 84 and the first jet runway at Bradley International Airport.
The Tomasso companies were recently involved in the purchase of approximately 80 acres of commercial land in New Britain and Plainville, adjacent to Interstate 84 at the Route 72 intersection. The site offers the long-term advantage of a well-trafficked location adjacent to the Medical Arts Building and the Hartford Healthcare Cancer Institute at The Hospital of Central Connecticut.
William Tomasso maintains a strong philanthropic commitment. His previous governance roles include being a board member with the Boys & Girls Club of New Britain, New Britain General Hospital, The New Britain Foundation for Public Giving, and on the Board of Trustees for the YWCA. He currently serves as a volunteer and board member with Opportunity Industrialization Center of New Britain (OIC), which is part of an internationally recognized nonprofit adult education and job training organization. Mr. Tomasso is an active member of Saint Ann’s Church.
